FIELD: deaeration of liquid media. SUBSTANCE: vacuum deaerator is made in form of steam-and-liquid jet apparatus. Unit is provided with cyclone. Steam jet of steam-and-liquid ejector is connected to steam source; liquid inlet of steam-and-liquid jet apparatus is connected to source of liquid to be deaerated and outlet of this apparatus is connected with inlet of cyclone. Gas outlet of cyclone is connected to gas inlet of gas-and-liquid jet apparatus and liquid outlet is connected to deaerated liquid consumer. Zone of reduced pressure is created in steam-and-jet apparatus by feeding steam to its nozzle. In the course of interaction of steam with liquid developed surface of gas evolution is formed producing gas-and-liquid flow at volumetric content of gas in mixture no less than 0.8, thus transferring the flow to supersonic motion. Then shock wave is organized; steam-gas-liquid flow is converted into flow before pressure wave accompanied by gas bubbles after shock wave at volumetric content of gas in mixture not exceeding 0.70. Then this flow is fed to cyclone where zone of reduced pressure is formed and gas liberated from liquid being deaerated is discharge to this zone.
