FITTINGS FOR SUPPLY OF POTABLE WATER AND METHOD OF APPLICATION OF ESSENTIALLY INERT COAT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2132012 C1

FIELD: water supply systems. SUBSTANCE: fittings include copper and copper-alloy parts which are in contact with water. Coat of parts is made from tin and is applied on inner surfaces of parts by method of chemical tinning in liquid solution at temperature of from 50 to 0 C. Thickness of coat ranges from 2 to 4 mk. Method of application of essentially inert coat on parts of fittings made from copper and copper alloy includes cleaning the surfaces to be tinned and bringing these in contact with solution used for chemical tinning. This contact is effected at temperature from 50 to 80 C. EFFECT: avoidance of leaching of metals similar to lead into potable water. 15 cl, 2 dwg
