MIXING VALVE WITH THERMOSTATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with holding device for friction keeping of two mobile parts of mixing valve with thermostatic temperature control. First part of mixing valve has cavity with side, upper and lower walls. Cavity houses pressing ring of O-type which seizes surface of second mobile part of valve by friction. Axial distance between upper and lower walls of cavity is less than diameter of cross-section of pressing ring in axial direction. Due to this pressing ring contracts along axis in this cavity ensuring as result friction seizure between upper and lower walls of cavity as well as seizure between it and surface of second mobile part of valve located along axis. Diameter of cavity is larger than that of contracted pressing ring and thanks to it ring-shaped space or chamber is formed between ring and side wall of cavity. This ring-shaped space communicates through groove in lower wall of cavity with zone of water holding in mixing valve. Design of proposed mixing valve with thermostatic temperature control has advantage as movements of mobile insert result in minimal wear which stays essentially constant under various working conditions despite thermal expansion of parts and inaccuracy of manufacturer's allowances of their dimensions.
