FIELD: gold-mining. SUBSTANCE: method can be used when leaching gold from potassium production sludges. Gold-containing sludge is washed to remove salts, salt-containing wash water is removed, fresh water added, and gaseous chlorine is passed through resulting slurry. Chlorination is carried out such that concentration of active chlorine in leaching solution were within a range of 0.3 to 2.0 g/l. Gold leaching completed, gold is recovered by contacting solution with sorbent. EFFECT: optimized process parameters.
