FIELD: locking devices. SUBSTANCE: universal springless lock relates to locks of special design and special application. It can be installed on doors of premises of specific importance. Lock has body which contains set of steel strips. Slots are made in each steel strip. Due to action of key, separate slots create single continuous slot. Lock body also incorporates latch moving device. Body is made in trough-like form and contains detent which repeats configuration of key. Also provided are carriage and locking strip. Steel strips are installed for possible movement along body trough. Carriage can be displaced along trough by means of key and weight. Thickness of single steel strip is 0.25-0.35 mm, number of steel strips in set is up to 70-100 pieces. Lock can be provided with second key of configuration which is different from configuration of first key with closing on common locking strip. Also provided is second carriage with detent. Due to simple design of lock and absence of springs, reliability of lock is enhanced, and cost of its manufacture is reduced. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 5 dwg
