FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: method relates to development of deposits of heavy oil and bitumen by means of wells. In realization of method, according to preliminarily determined configuration of reservoir, arranged is pattern of wells which are located in concentric circles or in rows. Created are directed flows which concentrically widen from center to periphery or linear flows by means of successive displacement of heating front. Bitumen is recovered from wells. Carried out is compensation injection of accompanying water into water-bearing interval of depression zones with taking into consideration degree of hydrodynamic isolation in floor of deposit reservoir. Compensation injection is performed directly into worked out sections of productive bed. Application of aforesaid method increases recovery of bitumen from deposit bed.
