SUBSTANCE: worm cylindrical gearing consists of Archimedean, involute or convolute worm and worm gear joined with it. In mean portion of worm gear rim there is turning whose width is equal to 30-50% of rim width and whose depth is more than height of gear tooth of worm gear. Small diameter of worm gear is increased up to 1.8-1.98 of interaxial distance at width of toothed rim exceeding diameter of worm turns. EFFECT: improved design, enhanced carrying capacity of worm gearing due to favorite conditions for providing liquid friction in engagement, shifting of contact zone in region of increased values of curvature radius, increased total length of contact lines. 2 dwg
