FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in main reduction gears, pinion stands of rolling mills, heavily loaded drives of different machines and mechanisms. Proposed external helical gear train contains gear and wheel with involute profiles in center of depth of teeth and it is made with main extreme stresses in upper active layer of teeth at maximum load corresponding to initial stage of plastic state of upper active layer of teeth under natural operating conditions of train. Addendum and dedendum of teeth are increased relative to standard values by 0.25 of train modulus, and their profiles are formed by arc of circumference convex on addendum part of teeth and concave on dedendum part of teeth, center of circle being aligned with pitch point. Dependences for calculating criterion of plasticity and arc of circumference are provided. EFFECT: improved contact strength, provision of smooth operation and alignment of parts. 4 dwg
