FIELD: desalination of sea water with incidental winning of concentrated solutions, electrochemical treatment of sewage for purification. SUBSTANCE: desalting gear has body, four metal electrodes with electric insulation coat, two internal of which are perforated and connected to unlike poles of source of direct or pulsating current and external solid ones are also connected to unlike poles of source of direct or pulsating current but of higher voltage. All electrodes are made in the form of rectangular plates placed in parallel which ensures presence of homogeneous electric field between them. Several intermediate perforated plates- electrodes with supply of higher voltage of same sign to each one located more distant from axial line of gear than to one located closer to axis can be installed between solid external plates-electrodes and correspondingly between internal perforated plates- electrodes to enhance operational efficiency of gear.
