FIELD: desalting of sea water with production of more concentrated solutions. SUBSTANCE: sea water desalting plant has two electrodes made in the form of cylindrical housing and rod. Housing and rod are made of metal coated with electric isolating layer and connected to unlike poles of DC source. The plant has two ion-permeable partitions made in the form of metal perforated tubes with electric insulation coating also connected to unlike poles of DC source. Housing, perforated tubes and rod are arranged concentrically while housing and outer perforated tube are connected to pole of one polarity, and inner perforated tube and rod are connected to pole of opposite polarity. Voltage across housing and rod exceeds that across perforated tubes. EFFECT: increased efficiency and capacity of plant, simplified technology of plant manufacture. 2 dwg
