METHOD FOR OBTAINING FRESH WATER AND DESALINATION INSTALLATION TO THIS EFFECT Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC C02F1/04

Abstract RU 2333892 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates for method of obtaining fresh water and desalination installation, and can be used for production of clean drinkable water, especially in regions where there are no sources of drinkable water as such. Method consists in that sea water is supplied to desalination installation, where it is heated with formation of steam-drop substance, which is condensed and obtained fresh water is supplied to consumer. Heating of sea water is realised by creating low-temperature plasma, whose burning is accompanied with regulated in frequency pulsation of electric discharge. Necessary temperature and frequency of electric discharge pulsation are realised by regulating the number of electrodes connected to the circuit, depending on the value of electric conductivity of sea water measured when it is supplied to desalination installation. Steam-drop mixture which is formed, is cooled and condensed in feeder-refrigerator, after which desalinated water is taken out of the installation, sea salts that are formed in the process are deposited on the bottom in the form of flakes. installation contains one-piece frame made in the form of connected reservoirs, i.e. upper cone reservoir intended for obtaining steam-drop mixture, medium cylinder reservoir intended for creation of wave and vibration processes in the installation and lower profiled one used for depositing sea salt flakes The upper cone reservoir accommodates phase electrodes each being covered with insulating coat, while the reservoir itself communicates with feeder-refrigerator.

EFFECT: elaboration of method of simple and economical production of fresh water from sea water and creation of simple in construction and convenient to service installation for implementing the said method, which, in addition, ensures reduction of process energy intensity and excludes formation of scale on installation walls.
