FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: composition contains: (i) essentially water-insoluble fabric- softening quaternary ammonium compound including nitrogen head group and two alkyl or alkenyl chains each having in average at least 14 carbon atoms or one alkyl and one alkenyl chains with average chain length equal or superior to 20 carbon atoms, and (ii) nonionic surfactant, in which composition weight ratio of components (ii)/(i) is equal to more than 1: 6. According to invention, composition contains, as nonionic surfactant, solubilizing means manifesting such phase behavior that, when in contact with water, first lyotropic crystalline phase is normal cubic, normal cubic double-continuous, hexagonal or nematic or intermediate phase, and, when composition is diluted with water to water concentration 5 wt % relative to (i)+(ii), at least 70% of fabric- softening compound is present in water, provided that composition includes no modifying additives.
