METHOD OF MOUNTING MARINE SELF-RAISING PLATFORM Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: water-development works; building of marine self-raising platform. SUBSTANCE: method consists in receiving ballast in tanks of platform outriggers whose mass is equal to mass of supports and gradually flooding the lower compartments of supports till platform takes vertical position at which it floats. Then rope of platform mooring mechanism is brought to support and is pulled to side of platform in area of outrigger, after which rope of support is secured to hook of hoisting mechanism and support is ballasted to zero buoyancy through trunk of hoist-lower mechanism. The ballasting is connected to complete flooding till support by hook of hoisting mechanism used for pulling it to body of platform. In case of stream, support is additionally ballasted till it takes vertical position, after which pillar is pulled into trunk for engagement with lower-hoist mechanism of platform. After emergence of upper portion of support, list and trim are checked and compensating ballast is discharged. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of assembly of platform without additional pontoons. 2 cl, 3 dwg
