FIELD: polymer production and lubricating oil additives. SUBSTANCE: production of low-molecular polyolefins, useful as lubricating oil additives, etc. , is carried out under shear information conditions in two steps. First-step process conducted at 250-380 C includes vacuum separation of polyolefin destruction-origin hydrocarbons from liquid reaction product. Second thermal polyolefin destruction step is carried out in several zones at 325-380 C in 5-10 mm bed formed between two coaxially arranged tubes (ratio of coaxial bed length to its outside diameter 35-55), process being carried out both in one and in a few parallel coaxial beds and polyolefin destruction-origin hydrocarbons being separated after each destruction step.
