FIELD: polymeric addition agents and additives of various purposes in oil refining and petrochemical industries. SUBSTANCE: low-molecular polyolefins are prepared by thermal destruction of high-molecular polyolefin such as rubber elastomer, namely ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer during depolymerization at 300-370 C in two stages. First stage is carried out by heating copolymer without gradients to depolymerization temperature for 1-6 minutes. In second stages, depolymerizate is withdrawn and maintained at depolymerization temperature for 15-30 minutes. Both stages are carried out in atmosphere of inert gas, e.g. nitrogen.
