METHOD, DEVICE AND COATING FOR WATERPROOFING OF BRICK WORK Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: particularly relates to waterproofing of internal walls by using materials of wax type. According to method, wax-type material is located in trough which is open at side of brick work and is hermetic as to penetration of liquid at sides and from bottom side. Wax-type material is in close contact with brick work and during period of treatment material due to capillary forces acting in brick work penetrates deep inside brick work. Trough is made as heated, and wax-type material is heated directly in trough up to temperature higher than its melting point. Device for waterproofing of brick work of internal walls is provided with carrier of waterproofing material made of fabric or mats. This carrier is impregnated with wax, and by means of these carriers of large surface area wax-type material is applied to brick work. Coating for waterproofing of brick work surface is made up of waterproofing boards or in the form of plaster sheets. Wax-type material in wall coating is contained in the form of balls or suspension. Application of aforesaid method, device and coating ensures effective waterproofing of brick walls without their destruction, and it gives stability with respect to water pressure with possible application to large areas of walls.
