FIELD: pipe line fittings; cocks, valves and gates where ball swivel plugs with central holes are used for opening and closing the supply passage. SUBSTANCE: body of ball cock has through hole in plane perpendicular to axis of spindle where cylindrical pin is fitted for locking the spindle in the required position to avoid axial displacement; this pin runs through additional groove made in spindle. Width of this groove corresponds to diameter of pin. Pin has saddle-shaped neck in its center portion in zone of spindle groove. Radius of saddle-shaped neck corresponds to radius of lateral surface of spindle groove embraced by it. Lateral surface of spindle groove is provided with flat on one side whose depth is equal to amount of sinking of pin neck relative to its lateral cylindrical surface. Neck of pin prevents removal of pin from hole in body locking it axially in the course of operation of cock. Flat available on lateral surface of spindle groove makes it possible to dismantle spindle from body of ball cock when it is positioned opposite pin. EFFECT: ease of mounting and dismantling pin for replacement of worn seal without disconnecting the ball cock from pipe and complete disassembly of cock without shutting-off the section of pipe line where cock is fitted. Pin may extend beyond for locking the ball cock in the OPEN and CLOSED positions; special washer with two tabs bent downward is fitted directly under handle which rest against one or other projecting end of spindle, thus limiting range of turn of spindle within angle equal to 90 deg.
