FIELD: gravity concentration of mineral resources, in particular, primary concentration of nonclassified ores or sands. SUBSTANCE: the device has a chute with a trapping coating and a paddle installed for movement along the chute. The paddle is installed at a definite height and at a definite angle relative to the chute bottom for varying these parameters. The angle of paddle inclination is within 0 to 45 deg. The method consists in feed of water and material to be concentrated to the zone of separation, disintegration, pulping and turbulization of a plane pulp flow. Heavy particles are concentrated in the bed of mineral grains on the bottom of the concentrator. Tailings are discarded and impure water is discharged from the zone of separation. The method is accomplished by movement of the paddle over the bed at a speed of 0.6 to 1.5 m/s. EFFECT: enhanced capacity and extraction of fine and laminar particles of heavy minerals. 2 cl, 6 dwg
