BIMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transportation systems; carrying loads along railways on road vehicle semitrailers. SUBSTANCE: proposed bimodal system has semitrailer 100 with wheel position control system and kingpin. Frame of semitrailer 100 has two longitudinal members cross-connected at each end with outer crossmember carrying coupling kingpins and with inner crossmember provided with socket for intermediate and end rail bogies. Intermediate bogie 200 has adapters with carrying crossmembers arranged one over the other and coupled with bogie by ball hinge joints. Sockets for couplings and support rod are located on each carrying crossmember. Sockets for coupling and support rods of one crossmember are turned in opposite direction from coupling sockets and rods of other crossmember. End bogie 300 has carrying crossmember with support rod and coupling sockets turned in opposite direction from buffer beam located on carrying crossmember.
