FIELD: shipbuilding; designing marine propellers. SUBSTANCE: marine propeller includes drive shaft and blades fitted on end portion of drive shaft by means of boss which embraces drive shaft for free rotation relative to its axis. Boss is provided with spokes for articulating the respective blade for swinging and for engagement with surface of shaft on both sides from boss. Contour followers are ellipsoid in cross section; different axes of cross sections of contour followers are parallel on both sides from boss. Propellers is provided with circular nozzle secured on spokes, locking device with drive, blades for reversing which are articulated on nozzle and drive for turning the blades for reversing. During rotation of drive shaft and when locking device is in extreme position, rollers of blades are engageable with contour followers performing swinging motion and creating ahead thrust. Nozzle rotates at rather low speed. When locking device is in right-hand position, it locks boss and acts on drive deflecting the blades for reversing; in this case, nozzle rotates together with drive shaft creating astern thrust by reversing blades. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of propeller. 3 dwg
