FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method provides for disposal of radioactive materials in liquid and solid state and for changing material state. Materials are placed in multilayer container fully filled with water; each layer is thick enough to ensure specified radiation safety, Multilayer container holding nuclear material is buried at bottom of water reservoir. Each compartment communicates on top with surrounding water through check valve. Inner space communicates, in addition, with surrounding water through tube provided at its bottom. Tube is bent up and filled with separating liquid such as mercury. EFFECT: improved protection of environment against contamination with radioactive materials. 2 cl, 1 dwg
