FIELD: telegraph communications; transmission of digital messages over radiotelegraph channels. SUBSTANCE: method involves detecting instant of arrival of telegraph signal pulse leading edges, delaying for the time of setting channel output signal level depending on channel passband width, and measuring channel output signal level; measurement results are compared with maximum and minimum permissible values, control signal is one time decreased if measurement result is higher than maximum permissible value or increased if it is lower than minimum permissible value; one-time variation of control signal either side in absolute value should be lower than difference between maximum and minimum permissible values.
