FIELD: mechanical engineering; smooth change of ratio between input and output shafts of variable speed drive. SUBSTANCE: tooth-lever variable-speed drive includes input and output shafts, handle for change of gear ratio, two pairs of racks and two gears, carriages with guides of racks, carriage shift cams, rack driving mechanism and differential gear train with two degrees of freedom. One shaft of differential gear train, for example, carrier, is rigidly connected with output shaft and each of other two shafts is connected with gear. Each gear is thrown into engagement with racks of pair, carriage shift cams are fitted on input shaft and are engageable with carriages for change of engagement of each gear from one rack to another. Rack driving mechanism has lever with axis of rotation changed by means of ratio control handle and level swinging cam fitted on input shaft.
