DOUBLE END SEAL FOR REVOLVING SHAFTS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2137970 C1

FIELD: sealing technology. SUBSTANCE: double end seal is provided with device for relieving rings of friction pairs from hydraulic pressure of sealing fluid delivered to seal body. End seal works in mode of liquid friction which enhances tightness, reliability and durability of seal on shafts of large diameters revolving at high speed in machines and units under action of highly aggressive at high pressure and temperature. Part of end surface of antifriction ring is pressed to end surface of metal sliding ring. Remaining part of end surface of antifriction ring is supported by end surface of metal ring of relieving unit of antifriction ring. EFFECT: reduction of specific pressure on friction surfaces; effective lubrication of friction surfaces by sealing fluid; reduced wear of rings of friction pairs. 1 dwg
