FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: invention involves the use of chemical compounds for regulation of the growth of potato plants. The above-ground potato mass at the blooming phase is treated with senicant. The latter is 0.3-1.5% solution of phosphorus-containing chelate compound potassium salt at the dose 400-600 l/ha. Invention proposes to use hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid and nitrile trimethylphosphonic acid as chelate compounds. Indicated compound causes the process of chlorophyll destruction, ceases the synthesis of organic substances and stimulates the process of reorientation of plastic substances to storing organs followed by their transport from leaves to tubers.
