FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory mix that can be used as masonry mortar and for refractory luting when performing lining and repair operations on heat assemblies. Mix is composed of, wt %: chromite ore, 40-65; iron oxide, 9-22; magnesium sulfate, 8-14; aluminum or aluminum-silicon alloy 10-14, superplasticizer based on sodium salt of naphthalenesulfonic acid-formaldehyde condensation product, 0-11.9; initiator: ammonium chloride or stoichiometric mixture of ammonium-containing component (ammonium sulfate, ammonium phosphate, urea, formamide) with metal halide, 0.1-0.9; and modifier from the group: kyanite, sillimanite, or their mixture, 2-20. Composition reduced porosity of material to 8.7-12.5% and is characterized by inflammation temperature 820-890 C, and heat resistance 1720-1800 C. EFFECT: improved working characteristics. 2 tbl
