FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: fractionation of high-viscosity raw material includes deasphalting by mixing dehydrated raw material with polar water-soluble solvent, separating asphalt-free solution from asphalt solution, fractionating the former by gradually added water with simultaneous withdrawal of separated fractions. According to invention, mixing with water is carried out at elevated temperature not exceeding boiling temperature of solvent and, before adding water, asphalt-free solution is prefractionated by gradually (by 15-35 C steps) lowering temperature of solution to 20-25 C and simultaneously withdrawing fractions released in each step.
