FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, manufacture of saw for cutting bent profiles, tubes and rolled products. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating saw teeth with electrolytic plasma to temperature exceeding transformation temperature, with increased and decreased electric potentials being alternatively switched on and saw teeth being dipped into electrolyte with their rear surface in the course of motion of saw teeth, so that by the time before potential changing-over process, at least 1/4 of all teeth adapted to be simultaneously heated having been dipped into electrolyte; ironing out heated teeth rear surfaces by nonconductive indenter and simultaneously introducing alloying components into ironing out zone and supplying electric current with density of up to 10 A/sq cm; cooling teeth by interim cooling in air to martensite transformation temperature; exposing to electrolyte; providing friction between saw teeth and conductive indenter, which is manufactured from alloying components and connected to electric circuit with potential of 30-50 V with anode via layer of electrolyte. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality of strengthening treatment and reduced production cost. 4 cl, 2 tbl, 2 ex
