FIELD: machine building; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and machine building, namely to combined methods of part hardening, and can be used at manufacturing of cutting tool for band-saw metal-cutting machine operating in conditions of wear and alternating loads. Method of surface hardening of a steel part includes preliminary surface local doping from a coating applied on its surface using heating, thermodiffusion saturation of part surface with alloying elements from said coating by heating, maintenance and cooling. Said coating contains alloying components in form of chromium, manganese and titanium at the following ratio, wt %: Cr – 48–49, Mn – 48–49, Ti – 2–4, wherein local doping from said coating is carried out by heating with a plasma arc in a protective atmosphere of argon, and said thermal diffusion saturation is carried out at temperature of 760–850 °C with curing for 2–2.5 hours. After cooling, the steel part is cemented while heating with high-frequency current (HFC) at 1,200–1,250 °C for 20–30 minutes.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance and resistance to impact and alternating loads.
