FIELD: transportation and/or storage of food-stuff in trays. SUBSTANCE: cooling is effected by means of refrigerating unit. Food-stuff is surrounded by package which is barrier for gas. Plastic bag or corrugated board may be used as packaging material. Refrigerating unit may be arranged in or on tray. Flow of gas around evaporator is separated from flow of gas around condenser by means of barrier material. Cooling unit may be placed on food-stuff. In this case separation of gases may be effected through tight connection of barrier material to flange surrounding the condenser.
