FIELD: thermal equipment with controllable atmosphere; furnaces for chemical thermal treatment of metal powders. SUBSTANCE: furnace has working chamber with metal muffle and heater; distributing collector having even number of sections (no less than four) which are located on outer side walls of muffle with outlet branch pipes for smooth introduction of controllable atmosphere across layer of material being treated; waste gas discharge system in form of branch pipe is fitted before heating chamber. Angle of inclination of inlet branch pipe relative to surface of powder ranges from 5 to 10 deg; holes for admitting the gases on opposite sides of muffle are located in staggered order. EFFECT: modification of construction of continuous muffle furnace with controllable atmosphere; increased productivity; improved quality of powder at reduced specific power requirements. 3 cl, 5 dwg
