FIELD: TV equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves blanking shadows which correspond to complex signal using one filter for blanking large-scale ghosts, and another filter for blanking small-scale ghosts. Parameters of filtration of each filter are controlled in response to digital program signals which take into account channel characteristics, comparison of different characteristics, for judging stability of ghosts blanking. Parameters of filtration are calculated using these data. Filter for blanking of large-scale ghosts has circuits for blanking after-ghosts and pre- ghosts. Said method involves ring calculations with iteration of operations for different characteristics of channel. EFFECT: increased quality of image to be recorded or displayed. 28 cl, 13 dwg
