FIELD: pump equipment; oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: surface drive of submersible pumping unit is provided with autonomous module kinematically linked with reduction gear and made in form of double-stage gear mechanism including drive gear, center gear and driven gear of different diameters thrown into engagement in succession. Shaft of center gear wheel has two connecting ends and intermediate shaft of reduction gear is provided with one connecting end brought respectively out of housing of module and reduction gear which are provided with attachment units at points where these ends extend. Drive gear wheel. center gear wheel and driven gear wheel of module have diameters successively increasing in unequal proportional. Connecting ends of all shafts of module and reduction gear and all attachment units of housings of module and reduction gear are unified. Provision is made for effective control of pump output through change of rotational speed of driven shaft of rotator and consequently of pump rotor in wide range of magnitudes.
