QUASI-RESONANT CURRENT HANDLING STATIC CONVERTER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2139625 C1

FIELD: multiple-function high-frequency static converters. SUBSTANCE: converter has two series-connected DC voltage supplies and two controlled switches shorted out by diodes which form half-bridge circuit. Resonance-tuned circuit capacitor and parallel-connected load are connected across two diagonally opposite terminals of bridge. Inductance coil of resonance-tuned circuit or part of it is built up of two coils inserted in bridge arm. Converter performs dual function of DC- to-DC and DC-to-AC voltage conversion due to some improvements introduced in its circuit. Provision is made for limiting rate of rise of current through control switches in case of converter commutation failure so as to turn off power circuit of converter or controlled switches. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities and improved reliability of converter. 3 dwg
