FIELD: insulator materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of cable-protection shells formed by applying bitumen compositions on base material (fabric, nonwoven cloth, paper). According to invention, base material is impregnated with bitumen-polymer composition dissolved in organic solvent, which is further removed in the course of heat treatment. Process parameters: conditional viscosity of impregnation solution 20-80 s, drying temperature 70- 130 C, fan performance 850-6700 m/hr, and material displacement velocity 1-8 m/min. EFFECT: increased homogeneity of impregnation and reduced stickiness. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
