BED TESTING AIR CLEANER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: testing of air cleaners. SUBSTANCE: proposed bed includes testing chamber, exhaust tube communicated with this chamber, dust chamber for installation of air cleaner on air intake communicated with testing chamber, thermometer located in upper cover of chamber, air heater anchored on side walls of chamber. Devices measuring fractional composition of dust and air mixture and determining degree of dust concentration are communicated with dust chamber and exhaust pipe-line linking the latter with air cleaner. Vacuum pump is placed on pipe-line, thermometer and absolute filter are placed ahead of it, manometers, flowmeter, hut-off cock and anemometer are positioned ahead of and after filter. Outlet of system feeding dust communicates with dust chamber and devices creating specified air humidity communicate with testing chamber. Dust chamber has elements to create specified direction of dust and air stream made in the form of directing plates positioned on walls and/or in space of this chamber. Plates are separable to change spatial position of each plate. Bed is equipped with unit controlling position of each plate with the aid of corresponding drive and transmission coupled to directing plates.
