FIELD: mechanical engineering; cleaning of air in internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed air intake has plate base with air intake member arranged over perimeter and cover in form of cup arranged over air intake member. Base is installed on air branch pipe coaxially with branch pipe, and inertia device is placed between branch pipe and cover. Inertia device is made in form of two conical surfaces secured on air branch pipe and/or plate base. Any conical surface overlaps 0.2-0.6 of width of air passage between cover air branch pipe. Angle between section of above-indicated conical surface and above-indicated axis of air branch pipe directed towards side of cover is 30-60 degrees in any section plane passing through axis of air branch pipe. Conical surface located near air branch pipe inlet is made of moisture absorbing material and is provided with water drain holes. EFFECT: increased efficiency of operation of air intake owing to enhanced primary cleaning of air and simultaneous simplified design of air intake. 5 cl, 1 dwg
