FIELD: tools suppressing recoil of surfaces being struck. SUBSTANCE: split-head composite percussive tool has stiff load-carrying frame incorporating head assembly that does not carry load. The latter has pair of split heads arranged in tandem in axial direction and joined together through flexible polymeric link which is flush mounted in tool frame. When in use, flexible polymeric link functions as damper suppressing recoil of percussive end of tool. When one head strikes the surface, flexible polymeric link enables non-striking head to move towards striking head and to execute secondary impact that prevents recoil of percussive end of tool from surface; tool handle is characterized by high resistance to repeated impacts.
