FIELD: thermal expansion compensators. SUBSTANCE: compensator connects ends of two sections of pipe line used for transportation of hot fluid medium; each end of pipe line section is provided with flange 2. Thermal expansion compensator has coupling 3 whose ends are rigidly connected with respective cold flanges 4 rigidly connected in their turn with grooved joint device 5; it is provided with connecting device 6 connecting end flange 2 with respective cold flange 4. Connecting device 6 contains at least two interconnected members: first member 7 and second member 8; one of them is rigidly connected with cold flange 4 and second member is rigidly connected with end flange 2; first member 7 is made in form of sleeve manufactured from wavy or corrugated metal sheet whose waves or corrugations are parallel relative to longitudinal pipe line 1; second member 8 is flexible and deformable in direction of pipe line 1.
