FIELD: fire fighting equipment and aerosol used for fire suppression. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has housing composed of two halves positioned in opposed relation and interconnected so as to define annular gap between them, aerosol generating charge and ignition unit. Thermally stable cylindrical screen is positioned between aerosol generating charge and annular gap, in spaced relation to aerosol generating charge and housing. Housing inner side is lined with heat-insulating cover. EFFECT: increased safety by eliminating creation of fire flame and preventing slag from being thrown during operation of apparatus. 2 cl, 1 dwg
