FIELD: determination of orientation of objects with use of global navigation satellite systems by measurement of phase shifts of signals received by spaced antennas. SUBSTANCE: measurement of angular position of object is based on use of likelihood function. Ambiguity of phase measurements is eliminated by usage of a priori information and conducting of additional measurements which is achieved technical result of method. Final decision corresponds to ambiguity with minimal value of average magnitude of logarithm of likelihood function. Penalty value chosen from feasible magnitude of probability of rejection of true decision is computed for rejected decisions. EFFECT: elimination of ambiguity of phase measurements.
