FIELD: manufacture of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: new process of compression of air and fuel mixture before ignition in one combustion chamber by means of " finger " piston and piston of additional compression of air and fuel mixture which spaces of cylinders communicate constantly with space of combustion chamber and piston-compressor whose space of cylinder is separated from space of combustion chamber is used in given internal combustion engine. In agreement with invention compression of air and fuel mixture in combustion chamber is formed by " finger " piston, by piston-compressor, by piston of additional compression of air and fuel mixture till ignition point is achieved by " finger " piston. Additional compression of air and fuel mixture before ignition is formed by piston of additional compression of air and fuel mixture after " finger " piston passes ignition point. Such approach results in absence of detonation and in efficient usage of hot high-pressure gases as " finger " piston of reduced diameter is used in engine on which high-pressure gases act in proper cylinder of reduced diameter with correspondingly decreased working space. EFFECT: reduced consumption of fuel. 1 cl, 4 dwg
