FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed two-cylinder engine with one combustion chamber has crankshaft with cranks arranged at angle from 0,1° to 89,9° that is way working pistons provided non-synchronous compression. Ignition of fuel-air mixture compressed in one chamber to maximum value is provided when main working piston moves to bottom dead center and auxiliary working piston is in top dead center. Description of invention presents different methods of compression and ignition of fuel-air mixture and two-cylinder engine with one combustion chamber. EFFECT: simplified design, reduced friction forces between crankshaft and auxiliary working piston playing the part of after-compression piston. 2 5 cl, 4 dwg
