FIELD: data-measuring technology and electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method used for controlling and measuring current of electromechanical converters such as synchronous, reluctance, , and induction motors by vector orientation of current involves calculation of phase and amplitude of state vector of electromechanical converter (stator and rotor current, voltage, flux linkage in stator, rotor, and air gap) depending on difference between measured values of current and voltage followed by calculating sine and cosine functions of converter state vectors for which purpose phase values are divided by amplitude values; then cophasal and optophasal currents and angles of current vector phase shift relative to phases of state vectors obtained are measured. In addition, electromagnetic moment in the form of product of measured amplitude of single-phase current proportional to sine function of stator flux linkage phase by amplitude of stator flux linkage is measured; apart from that, saturation of magnetic core and mutual inductance are determined by dividing measured electromagnetic moment by product of optophasal current amplitude by rotor current amplitude; saturation current amplitude is found by dividing measured amplitude of air-gap flux linkage by measured mutual inductance. Device implementing this method has current and voltage transducers connected to inputs of digital signal processor incorporating modulo units, division units, adders, integrator, Cartesian coordinate converter, phase shift angle units, active and reactive power measuring units, multiplying units, and coordinate converter.
