FIELD: nondestructive testing by acoustic methods. SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic acoustic converter is first fed with voltage pulse, elastic vibrations emerged in it are recorded with the aid of piezoconverter acoustically coupled to it. Parameters of these vibrations are used to determine presence of acoustic contact between tested object and device. After it electromagnetic acoustic and piezoconverters are fed synchronously with voltage pulse and test results are determined by electric signals emerging in them simultaneously. Device for implementation of process includes excitation winding, short-circuited turn and detector of elastic vibrations acoustically coupled to the latter. Acoustic line of device is manufactured in the form of permanent magnet and detector of elastic vibrations is integrated with radiator of elastic vibrations. EFFECT: raised sensitivity of device, provision for tests of articles from both current-conducting and dielectric materials. 6 cl, 5 dwg
