FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of reducing ability to fibrillation of cellulose-based fiber (1). Fiber not dried yet is treated with solution which includes inorganic alkali agent and chemical agent containing plurality of acrylamido groups dissolved therein, average number of acrylamido groups per molecule of chemical agent in solution being at least 2.1 and (2) fiber which is treated with chemical agent is heated to secure reaction between fiber and chemical agent. EFFECT: fiber resistant to fibrillation during moist technological treatment and having improved colorability. 25 cl, 13 ex, 14 tbl
