FIELD: paper-and-pulp industry. SUBSTANCE: lyocell fiber with elevated predisposition for fibrillation is manufactured by dissolving cellulose in N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide to form solution, which is extruded through spinning nozzle to produce multitude of filament threads that are washed to remove solvent and then dried. According to invention, fiber is exposed to conditions reducing degree of polymerization of cellulose by at least 200 units. EFFECT: improved working characteristics of fiber. 11 cl, 8 dwg, 19 tbl, 17 ex
