FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mining of mineral deposits. SUBSTANCE: deposit is mined to strike by cascade of successively located open pits separated from one another by interpit pillars. Overburden rocks in full volume of each next open pit, except for the first one, are transferred into worked out process space of preceding open pit. Interpit pillars are mined by underground work from extraction workings driven from inclined shafts whose entrance is located in bottom parts of worked open pits. EFFECT: higher economic efficiency of mining due to reduced area of disturbed lands and their accelerated recultivation. 3 cl, 2 dwg
