SHIP'S STRINGER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2143365 C1

FIELD: aircraft manufacture and shipbuilding; manufacture of load-bearing framing members by rolling, stamping, drawing, machining, extrusion or powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: ship's stringer includes boundary line of section in at least one of cross sections. Over at least part of length, boundary line of section is made in form of fragment or combination of fragments of oblique taper section of right circular cone. Stringer may have varying linear size in section. This may repeatedly increase and intermittently decrease. Over part of length, boundary line of section may be convex or concave relative to center of mass of section. Part of length of boundary line of section may be stepped. Steps may have both increasing and decreasing linear size from one step to another. Over part of length, boundary line of section may have projection or one recess. Linear size of stringer may have at least one discontinuity. Discontinuities in linear size may be repeated and intermittent. Stringer may be made with at least one inner cavity. It is good practice to make stringer integral with skin; at least one projection and/or recess may be provided in area of conjugation. EFFECT: improved service characteristics of stringer. 16 cl, 16 dwg
