FIELD: ice-breaking devices; amphibian hovercraft breaking ice cover by resonance method. SUBSTANCE: prior to starting ice-breaking jobs, stress concentrators are made in ice cover in form of grooves. Depth of these grooves is lesser than thickness of ice and their is no less length of front of first crest of transversal flexural gravitational waves. Grooves are oriented perpendicularly relative to direction of ship's motion and are located at distance equal to all-length of transversal flexural gravitational waves.
